Colima Standing Female Figure, ca. 100 B.C.–250 A.D.
Finely modelled standing female figure from the Colima culture of West Mexico, depicted nude with long tapering legs and stylised facial features. The figure wears a rounded headdress with a small central knop, pendant earrings, and a beaded necklace. Applied nodules decorate both shoulders, a characteristic feature of Colima sculptural tradition. The smooth surface and softly contoured body highlight the artist’s attention to proportion and balance, while the calm, closed expression reflects the serene aesthetic typical of the Late Formative to Early Classic period.
